NIMROD gas and bio BB review.

And here is the end result of the testing of Nimrod Gas and bio bb line that you can get from airsoftzone.com and other suppliers.

A while back I received a package from AirsoftZone which included colour coded gas (green, red and black) and two packages of bio BB’s 0,36g and 0,45g.

As you can expect the power of gas varies by the colour it is coded.  The green gas being the weakest of them and black being best for sniper rifles. In the video below from the official AirsoftZone YouTube channel you can see what are the differences in power.

Standard Performance Green Gas 500ml

Extreme Performance Black Gas 500ml

Extremely powerful performance gas. Suitable for winter use and with high end metal pistols and rifles. Improper usage may result in damage to pistols, rifles, grenades and magazines. Features a very stable gas pressure, exceptional trajectory control, low temperature efficiency and increases the performance of your gun significantly.

Pressure at 20°C: 1.4 Mpa / 203 Psi / 14 Bar
Capacity: 1000ml
Fill quantity: 260g / 500ml

But you need to take care where you will put this gas as it is meant only for heavy full metal pistols and high end rifles. Japanese made pistols or rifles will not take kindly to it and will be damaged really fast. Even my high end King Arms MTD M700 rifle had problems taking black gas and it prefers only red for optimal performance. Also you need to take in to account that the video above uses blowback pistol for testing the FPS. If you are using NBB as myself (mk23) then you can expect that the FPS will be considerably higher. But all in all I do recommend Nimrod gases to all that you are searching for one.

But when we arrive to bio BB’s my thoughts differ. I used them in 4 different system. Gas pistol, AEG, gas powered sniper rifle and HPA converted gun. And I must say that I am not really that impressed with precision. I had an opportunity to test them against the cream of the sniper airsoft BB’s. They went against LongBow, Novritsch and KickingMustang BB’s and they performed quite well but not on the same level as those.

At 80m to 90m you could easily target and hit the standard L reflective vest but shooting a A4 list of paper representing the head was mostly a miss (4 hits out of 10, with no wind). While all the others you could achieve that quite easily.

Also I came upon a problem after using them in my HPA rifle after an extensive time. My precision went from acceptable to worse after 4 fights in which I went through around 300 BB’s. When I opened the gun and got at the barrel and hop up unit that is what I found.

A you can see there is white residue deposited on the opening of the barrel and on the hop up unit. That tells me that BB’s, while they are polished they are not very well cleaned and that a wash would not go amiss for better precision. But as these are bio I don’t know how much of an affect the water will have on them and if they are going to expand. I started the exposure experiment a month ago so it will soon be time to measure their deformations if they will be any.

My thoughts for the end. If you buy anything from Nimrod tactical you can expect nice performance and reliability the only thing to have in mind is that you clean your barrel after each match so your precision stays the same. And I do recommend that you wash your precision bb’s but dry them quickly so that their bio nature does not come in to play before you would wish it and jams your gun.
