IWA 2017 – DAY 3 REPORT – Shield Sights

While aimlessly  wandering around IWA 2017 show I was feeling like a little kid in a candy shop. High on sugar and overwhelmed with all the awesome stuff around me. So I almost walked past Shield Sights. The UK based company with a long tradition.

SHIELD was formed in the early 1980’s in Great Britain. We have a proven track record in providing SF Advanced Shooting Training and in developing innovative products, including:

  • Specialist suppressed weapons for Special Forces
  • Suppressor and folding stock for Accuracy International British Army sniper rifle
  • Electronic target systems
  • Range Construction

30 Years on, we are now one of the leading providers passionate about rapid target acquisition and engagement, SHIELD continues to design, implement and manufacture products that enable our shooters to “Hit the Target Earlier”

In recent years we have built Mini Red Dots for companies including JP Rifles (JPoint) & Trijicon’s REDDOT, marketed under their own brands.

And in 2007 the company landed the big deal for the British Army and to this day this partnership continues. As the company is developing new red dot sights for special forces.

The renowned Airsoft Surgeon from RedWolf also uses their robust sights on his builds. The price of the red dot is reasonable and it is around 300€. So if you wish to have a robust red dot that wont go down on you everytime you look at it funny then I recommend the Shield Sights.

Day 5 on the RSOI is a mock Patrol Base Exercise. The soldiers are split into multiples and have to practice all drills taught throughout the week in order to conduct a shura in the mock village of Wahim Kalay.
