Few days ago I came upon a novel item that caught my attention. The item was a self contained hood that you could fasten around your upper body. But it was different than standard sniper hoods. It differs in coolness factor. As the hood can be used for protection against the elements without having it attached to a bulky sweater, offers additional camouflage (as it disturbs the outline of helmet or face) and if you are not using it you can easily pack her up in a pouch.
